Indian River Mosquito Control District

At the June 8, 2010 Board meeting, Smith, Todd, McEntee & Co. of Vero Beach was awarded a five-year bid for auditing services beginning in fiscal year 2010-2011.  The bid included an option to renew for an additional three-year period.

At their April meeting, the IRMCD Board of Commissioners awarded the 2010-2011 aerial larviciding contract to Southeastern Aerial Crop Services, Inc. located in Ft. Pierce.

The 2010-2011 aerial adulticiding bid was awarded to Vector Disease Control, Inc. located in DeWitt, Arkansas.

At last week’s Board of Commissioners meeting, bids for aerial larviciding and adulticiding were opened with the intent of awarding the bids at the next meeting (9AM April 6, 2010 in the District Board Room).

Southeastern Aerial Crop Service, Inc. located in Fort Pierce, FL was the sole aerial larviciding bidder.

Aerial adulticiding bids were received from Clarke Environmental Mosquito Management, Inc. located in Kissimmee, FL and Vector Disease Control, Inc located in DeWitt, AR.

Sealed bids will be received by the Indian River Mosquito Control District at the District’s offices located at 5655 41st Street, at 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at which time they will be opened publicly and read, for purchase by the District for the following goods and services:

1)    Property insurance
2)    Inland Marine Insurance
3)    Liability insurance
4)    Workers Compensation Insurance
5)    Commercial Water Craft Insurance

At its December 18, 2008 special Board meeting, the Indian River Mosquito Control District Board of Commissioners tentatively accepted the apparent low bid of $895,400 from Coston Marine Services of Jupiter.

Formal bid acceptance is to occur within 90 days, pending the final recommendation of the District’s consulting engineering firm and confirmation of FEMA funding.
